Himes Statement on Irresponsible Release of Partisan Intelligence Report
Washington,
July 23, 2025
“It’s appropriate that this shoddy and partisan report was released by Director Gabbard on the day that House Republicans are quite literally fleeing Washington, DC for six weeks rather than releasing the Epstein files that Trump is so desperate to cover up. The Director is free to disagree with the Intelligence Community Assessment’s conclusion that Putin favored Donald Trump, but her view stands in stark contrast to the verdict rendered by multiple credible investigations, including the bipartisan report released by the Senate Intelligence Committee, which looked at the same evidence and unanimously endorsed the ICA’s findings. “Given the rushed and unusual ‘declassification’ process the DNI has implemented, I fear that the public release of this report could compromise sensitive sources and methods and endanger our national security.” |
