House Intelligence Committee Advances FY26 Intelligence Authorization

Washington, DC — Today, Ranking Member Jim Himes released the following statement regarding the Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2026. The bill passed out of committee by voice vote.

“Today’s markup took place against the backdrop of a pattern of deeply concerning actions by Director Gabbard, like the revocation of security clearances of career public servants, the firing of intelligence community leaders without explanation, and the politicization of intelligence analysis in the guise of de-politicizing intelligence analysis—all of which HPSCI Democrats have denounced. Despite these ongoing challenges, the committee came together to advance a bipartisan bill that will support the critical work of our intelligence professionals, enhance congressional oversight of the intelligence community, and help keep our nation secure. I look forward to continued collaboration as we seek to enact this bill into law.”
