WASHINGTON – Today, House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Ranking Member Jim Himes (CT-04) released the following statement:

“It should not be difficult to condemn the incitement of political violence, but the Republican party has become so riddled with hypocrisy that they are content to silently accept a president calling for the execution of Members of Congress. I have served alongside Representatives Jason Crow and Chrissy Houlahan on the Intelligence Committee for years—both are veterans who have put their lives at risk in service of this country. They, and my other colleagues, are entirely correct that military and Intelligence Community professionals can and must refuse illegal orders. That is not sedition, it is patriotism.”
