RM Schiff Welcomes New and Returning Democratic Members of HPSCI

Adam Schiff (D-CA), the Ranking Member of the house Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI), released the following statement after Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi named the other Democratic members of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. "There is no higher priority of our government than the protection of its people and Leader Pelosi has made five excellent choices of new members to serve on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence," said Schiff. "Representatives Luis Gutiérrez and Mike Quigley of Illinois, Jackie Speier and Eric Swalwell of California, Jim Himes of Connecticut, Terri Sewell of Alabama, Patrick Murphy of Florida, and André Carson of Indiana have a breadth of experience and a passion for national security. These new members and our superb returning members will bring their considerable talent, work ethic and ideas to oversight of the nation's intelligence agencies. I'm looking forward to working with each one of them and our Republican counterparts on the bipartisan imperative of protecting the country. In a statement announcing her choices, Leader Pelosi stated: “Protecting and defending American families is the greatest responsibility of Congress.
